About us
NADPO was created in 1993 to formally represent people working in data protection. It built on the thriving network of regional groups, set up by local government officers that already existed across the country. NADPO provides a structured environment to meet the needs and interests of information compliance professionals.
Today we have members representing a wide range of organisations including local government, police, and prison service. NADPO also welcomes members from the private sector.
Through our web site and other communications we provide our members information, support and assistance on all key data protection issues including the Freedom of Information Act, RIPA, records management and all other key privacy legislation.
NADPO has an online legal advice service for NADPO members and public authorities generally. This new service was launched in November 2005 and gives organisations access to legal advice at a very competive prices (typically £250 +VAT). You can register for this service at www.efire.org.uk
